Message from the Head

With immense pride and pleasure, I welcome all the students to Devi Ahilya University and to School of Biotechnology. The department runs 3 post graduate programmes (M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Sc Genetic Engineering and M.Sc Bioinformatics) and Ph.D programme. The Department was supported by Department of Biotechnology for a long time. Our M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs are well recognized at national and international level as evident from the placement records of our alumni. A very strong research profile of our faculty and their zeal to do even better always, is our strength.

I believe that knowledgeable and dedicated teachers along with a very positive and active research environment will definitely promote your scientific competence and abilities. Our aim is to nurture minds who can think scientifically on their own, have independent, critical and analytical outlook for a problem. We not only teach but invoke scientific and research aptitude in the students which will enable them always to have an edge over others in future. We aim to prepare and train our students in such a way that they may be readily absorbed by the Industries for jobs and by Research institutes if they want to pursue higher studies.
